Despite making headlines with their Releye temperature-controlled container, Envirotainer has now introduced the RAP version of the same that holds not 3, but 5 pallets at a time. Larger capacity means the container is more efficient than smaller temperature-controlled containers offering a lower carbon footprint. With a single battery charge able to power the system for over 170 hours, the RAP version continues to monitor product condition, location, temperature, humidity, battery levels, door openings, cargo loading status, and the shipment progress. Swiss WorldCargo became the launch customer of this version of Releye temperature-controlled container. The Releye RAP sets a new benchmark for temperature-controlled five-pallet solutions, combining their cutting-edge technology and reaching outstanding CO2 reductions per shipment.

For over a year, Qatar Airways has been pushing Boeing to manufacture B777X freighters. Looking forward to shake things up in their fleet, the airline is aiming to buy 50 freighters from the plane-maker in a deal that is potentially valued around $14 Billion. The relations between Qatar and Airbus turned sour recently as the former issued legal proceedings against the latter over the Doha-hubbed airline’s A350 fleet due to which Airbus cancelled the order placed by Qatar Airways for 50 new A321s. Boeing will play a crucial role in Qatar Airway’s fleet renewal programme as earlier the airline was interested in buying 30 freighters. However, as of today, that number has gone up to 50. Despite of restricted belly capacity, Frankfurt airport handled 2.3m metric tons of cargo in 2021. To put things in perspective, this was a record breaking jump for Europe’s biggest hub by almost 18.7% compared to 2020 figures. The passenger traffic seemed promising during the period from April 2021 to December 2021, however, still strives for a reliable comeback when compared to pre pandemic levels. On the flip-side, cargo levels in December 2021 recorded the highest monthly volume since 2007 with 197,100 metric tons.
After Delta joined forces with Envirotainer for their Releye RLP containers this past week, a similar interest was put to display by the Air France KLM Martinair cargo. As part of the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) programme by AF-KLM, the airline finds Envirotainer’s Releye container to be the next organic step into the future that helps CO2 emission reduction by 90%. The airline takes this advancement very seriously as it contributes towards their agenda of strengthening pharma supply chain. This also comes in handy for AF-KLM as the the airlines promised to reduce the CO2 emissions as per a recent Paris Agreement signed with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
