AIRBUS TOWERS OVER BOEING

2/8/2021

Complying with ICAO emissions regulations, Airbus has successfully built their A350’s freighter version whereas team Boeing is still considering the freighter version of their B777. With a capacity of over 90 tonnes, the new new A350 freighter would have 20% less fuel burn than existing twin-jet freighters, 30% less than a three jet aircraft and 40% less than a four engine model. It is speculated that this development came into action due increased demand by carriers such as Qatar, who announced their multibillion-dollar investment as part of their fleet renewal programme earlier this year. In order to compete with their American rivals - Boeing, the board at Airbus approved enhancing their product line with the A350 freighter derivative expressing that the manufacturing will be embedded in the A350 production system itself. Although Boeing finds B777X to be their next logical step complying with ICAO rules, it will take time.
